While there are plenty of supplements people use to gain weight and muscle, there are also quite a few used to lose weight and shed off those excess kilo’s.
One of those is Hydroxycut.
Hydroxycut is a nutritional supplement manufactured and marketed by Iovate Health Sciences that is designed to help consumers lose weight.
There is no doubt Hydroxycut is the most popular brand of weight-loss supplement on the market, with it selling approximately 1 million units every year.
In a nutshell, the product is marketed at fat burners, energy enhancers, low carb diets, and weight loss supplements.
However, the supplement does not exist without its controversy.
Just last year, the product was taken off the shelves and a complete recall of the product was made, after one person died from regular usage.
As well as the death, 23 reports of serious health problems were also associated with the supplement.
There were many studies into the effects of Hydroxycut, and many found that serious liver damage was a result from regular usage of it.
In addition there were other health risks involved including kidney damage, jaundice, seizures, cardiovascular disorders, rhabdomyolysis and others associated with weight loss.
But the good news is that since then, the manufacturers have come out with a new and improved formula that has reduced it’s health risks and been given the tick of approval by health officials.
However, the question is still asked today…. Is Hydroxycut ok to use???
While there have been several reports of Hydroxycut injuries, the FDA is still unsure which Hydroxycut ingredients are causing liver damage and other reported side effects., therefore that answer is still hard to answer.
The best thing to do is to be safe and consult a doctor prior to using it.
