Home made soup

HOME made soup is the epitome of comfort and is a grand food to have over winter. Whether you’re sick or just want to have a nice appetizer for a meal, soup is a wonderful soul warming food filled with brilliant vegetables and broth.

Home made soup is much better – and you can taste it – than those in the cans or tins at supermarkets.

The end product is far more delicious and nutritious and you will never forget the taste – especially if you’re mum makes it.

And it’s easy to make.

All you need is a cutting board, sharp paring and chefs knives, vegetable peeler, wooden spoon, skimmer, measuring cups and spoons, a stand-up or immersion blender, ladle, saucepans, stockpot, and a kitchen timer. This is what it takes to make quality soups that your friends and family will love forever.

The broth of the soup is very important so you must give a lot of attention to the stock because this can distinguish the flavour of the soup. 

Then you can add a whole heap of fresh vegetables and even meat to the mix. The more the better as it gives you more nutrition and can even act as a meal with the more nutrients you put in there.

Some put potatoes, pumpkin, carrot, beans, zucchini, onion, cauliflower, cabbage and even peas. You can even add a meat such as chicken and beef to add even more flavour to the mix. Of course cook the chicken or beef first before adding it.

Soups are a wonderful finish or starter to a meal and you’re visitors will no doubt be coming back for more and more. It’s better to perhaps cook a couple of pots of this and store one away for the next time you feel like soup. Once you get used to making it, you won’t stop doing it during the course of the winter months.
